We've always been big supporters of open source software, and we've been excited to share its power with the community. Sometimes, we've even gone to extreme lengths to spread the word.
In the spring of 2006, we wanted to share our passion for open source and to get folks excited about the Penguin Day Seattle with the non-profit community. We thought, what better way to spread the word than to give away 4-foot tall inflatable penguins at the 2006 Non-Profit Technology Conference (NTC) as the symbol of open source technology.
People loved it! They loved it so much, we've migrated our penguins to the NTC every year since 2006. If you've ever been to an NTC, or you've seen the penguin in non-profit tech photos, you've seen a PICnet Penguin.

We have served more than 300 organizations with technology solutions based on the Joomla! content management system, and we're proud of our track record in the open source community. Our organizations use Joomla and Non-Profit Soapbox in their communications strategies to shape the world around them and better serve their constituents. From protecting civil rights to rethinking foreign policy, our organizations focus on their missions while we focus on their Web technology.
