LinuxWorld SF - Day 3: Post 2 (wrapping up a day)

It’s been another long and successful day at the LinuxWorld for the Joomla team. Lots of foot traffic again, with some fun highlights like the FreeBSD booth showing us how you can now 2-click install Joomla from a GUI. We had some interesting internal discussions on other booths, like Splunk, which looks promising for source code indexing and searchability of log files.

But the fun didn’t stop when the show closed down for the day.

With fresh ideas in mind, a quick hop to the hotel gave us some time to do some creative thinking, check email missed from a day’s hard work, and unwind a little bit. We decided to grab dinner at the 21st Amendment, which had some good mirco-brews and decent burgers. There was great conversation about everything from sports to smooth tasting tequila. I chatted with Barrie and Casey about ways in which JoomlaShack and Non-Profit Soapbox could work together. Johan enjoyed an American beer (so he said), and in general, a good time was had by all, as some of the photos below document.

Johan and Barrie pound out a point...or squash a bug.

That’s Johan and Barrie, vigorously discussing a point, or squishing a bug. I’m really not sure.

After the food, it was time for some relaxing drinks at the PickWick Hotel’s bar to cap off a long day’s work.

Cheers to Joomla!

Sure looks like you’re (also) having some fun there ;)
