It is not even Beta and I am guessing that will be a month, or two. Once it turns Beta the core developers have indicated a minimum of four possibly eight or more weeks before going live. Keep in mind that most implementations will require third party extensions and many of those extensions are not ready and will require their own testing period.

My guess is it will be at least January 1st, 2007 before the smoke clears on v. 1.5 for most people to begin implementations.

But, none of us know, we all just sit on the sidelines and observe the action. And, even the core developers really do not know. I will tell you from watching the SVN very closely that LOTS of code is committed on a regular basis. Andrew Eddie is kicking up some serious code - and having the "big guns" in there slinging code like he is, is, of course, very encouraging.

Testing shows the alpha to be more and more stable. Anyone can check out the alpha release. Just go to joomla.org and click the Developer button on top and look for the "Download" link. Let me know if you need help. Testing the new release is the best way to get a feel for when it might be done.

Patience with open source is always a good idea!

Hi:

Please really, when will the Joomla 1.5 come out? I am eagerly awaiting the new version to build a community portal site.

Thanks,
