We PICnetters love Basecamp for project management.  It's definitely not a Microsoft Project, but it does the trick, especially for our Web development clients that simply need an easy interface to communicating with us outside of email.

What we're starting to find, however, is that we need the ability to do some things in Basecamp that "out of the box", Basecamp simply doesn't do.  One of those things is simple time tracking.  When we work with support retainer clients, we need a fast and efficient way to be able to track what we did, who we did it for, and how long it took.  Sometimes this is a little laborious in Basecamp's time tracking interface, so we're developing a Basecamp - Joomla integration, that using Basecamp's API, allows us to customize our interface with Basecamp.

Look forward to a Joomla component release of this in mid-2007.
